Here's a couple other things to consider: WHAT IF people had listened to Noah's message? Would there have been room on the ark for them? Noah had all these species of animals on the ark. Would there have been room for the people (many of them who were just eating, drinking, being merry, but taking no note) if they had a change of heart? Doesn't sound like there would have been. And if Noah and his family had already been deemed the ONLY righteous people on the earth, why have them PREACH to the rest of wicked mankind?

Jesus invisible presence in 1914, what purpose did it serve?

Love the replies in this thread! Yeah, the whole concept of an invisible rulership defeats the concepts of rulership - and that is to be visible. How can you rule over something if you are invisible to it? A rulership that can't be seen??!! It seems like lunacy now, but how powerful the conditioning must be for us to at one have swallowed this BS.

I AM THE NEW MEETUP ORGANIZER FOR EX-JW's IN MICHIGAN
by AK MCGRATH inhi all you fellow michiganders.. i wanted to make you aware that the meetup site entitled, "ex-jehovah's witnesses of michigan" will not be disolved.
i decided since today was the last day before it would be no more, i should step up, and so i gladly did.. seeing that there has not been one meetup since it's inception, i plan to change that.
i know there is at least one person from here who is registered with our meetup.

I'm sorry I missed this. I live on the border of Novi and Farmington (5 minutes from that Olive Garden). Hope to catch one in the future.

Who is your JWN BAMF?
by okage ini hope this thread goes somewhere, and i hope i put it in an acceptable category:.
the wts has spent around 130 years in underhanded practices and cult control.
we can all name at least two practices banned by the un as inhumane.. because of the control of information they have within their ranks and their often litigious nature outside of the "compound" walls, every bit of information on here is crucial in ensuring no one who visits jwn falls for the gimmicks and traps the society works to employ.. there are personal experiences that are troublesome and touching through the experience of freedom after years of endurement.

There are a LOT of posters that make me stop and think here. But for my money, my man TERRY consistently makes GREAT posts that hit home for me. Love the way he thinks and I make sure to check for his posts whenever I log on here.

8 serving elders with some interesting views... shame they don't all serve on the same body!!
by cedars ini thought i'd take a look at how the 2012 jw survey is progressing, and i was particularly interested to note the broad spectrum of responses from the 8 serving elders who have so far voted.
i thought i would share these with you.... .
question: in what capacity do you currently serve as an elder?.

Great idea for the survey. Hopefully more elders step forward and fill it out!

You should also include as a survey question: Should JWs be required to record the time they spend in the ministry?

Anyone in the Detroit area wanna go to the Memorial with me?
by serenitynow! ini will be partaking and placing some "literature.
" i was going to go in ohio, but my partner in crime can't make it.
i also plan to strike up a conversation about the epic fail of a memorial invite that a local congregation put in my door.

I would probably go with you if I wasn't allergic to kingdom halls. Which congregation would you hit? The last time I was at the memorial was 3 years ago, when I gave the talk and then completely walked away.

haven't officially walked away from the cult over a year ago (had been trying to apply a slow fade over a number of years) and now being able to think clearly, i can truly say that organized religion is the epitome of man's arrogance and ignorance.

Thanks ranmac - yes, the whole timesheet and hour requirement thing always seemed so poetty for an entity responsible for creating the known universe. Just didn't compute.
Tec - lol. That's happened to me a couple of times as well!
